Introduction of Project:

The focus of our project is to provide reasoning as to why Young Adult literature is more beneficial than classical literature in today's adolescent classrooms and how teaching this genre of literature can ultimately increase the student's literacy development. We believe that it provides improvement, encouragement, and support. Young Adult literature will ultimately improve the reading skills of the student, encourage more interest and engagement from the students by relating to the literature, and support the teachers in facilitating successful lessons without the avoidance of failing to get the lesson purpose across to the students. In order to do this we will look into incorporating analytical research, statistical data and personal interviews provided by teachers and authors who focus on both how YA literature is viewed upon teachers who are all for YA literature in the classroom and and those who do not agree so that we can get a clear understanding of the impact of YA literature and it's connection to literacy development.
